Jed Duggar and Katey Deny ChickfilA Inspiration for Sons Name

Jed Duggar and his wife, Katey, have recently clarified that their son’s name, Truett, was not inspired by the popular fast-food chain Chick-fil-A. In a candid conversation on the “Jinger and Jeremy” podcast, Katey shared the deeper meaning behind their choice. “We love the meaning of the name,” she explained. “It means ‘warrior for Christ.’ As soon as we found that out, we thought it was a solid name.”

Truett’s middle name, Oliver, also carries a significant meaning, translating to ‘peace.’ “That’s a solid name, and he’s a solid kid,” Katey added, emphasizing the thoughtful nature behind their naming decision. Despite their love for Chick-fil-A, which they enjoy for its famous chicken sandwiches and waffle fries, the restaurant’s influence did not play a role in naming their firstborn.

Jed, 26, chimed in with a laugh, “We do love Chick-fil-A.” He mentioned that while the name caught his attention because of its historical significance—Truett Cathy founded Chick-fil-A in 1946—his and Katey’s preference for classic names played a more significant role in their decision. “I kind of like older names,” he admitted. “Both of us do, so as soon as we thought about it for a little bit, we fell in love with it.”

The couple, who welcomed Truett in 2021, are also proud parents to two-year-old Nora and five-month-old twins Elsie Kate and Emma Kate. While they initially thought they had a handle on parenting, the dynamics of raising twins have proven to be a unique challenge. “When you have twins, you’re both doing the same thing at the same time,” Katey explained, highlighting the need for teamwork in their parenting approach.

Jed and Katey have embraced their roles as parents, enjoying the busy yet rewarding life that comes with raising their children. “Truett is at an age when I can take him to the office,” Jed shared. “He can hang out for three or four hours. He’s fine. He likes to hang out and do pretty much anything that’s manly.” This bonding time is precious for both father and son.

In a heartfelt message on Instagram, Jed expressed his admiration for Katey, acknowledging her dedication to their family. “Your love for our kids and your heart for the Lord inspire me daily,” he wrote on Mother’s Day. “I’m so thankful God chose you to be the mama of Truett, Nora, Emma, and Elsie. We’re so blessed to have you!”
