Brittany Renners Marriage to Kevin Gates Ends in Just 52 Days

Brittany Renner, known for her appearances on “Basketball Wives,” has revealed that her marriage to rapper Kevin Gates has come to an end after only 52 days. In an interview with REAL 92.3 LA on June 7, Renner shared the details of her brief union, stating, “We got married on April 6 and divorced on May 28.” Despite the short duration of the marriage, Renner expressed a sense of peace about the situation, emphasizing that she doesn’t view it as a negative experience.

“I don’t feel like it’s a sucky situation because what is meant to be is always going to be,” Renner explained. She reflected on her journey, saying, “I followed my heart, and that’s what more than most people can say. I think when you do that, you get all the clarity you need, and there’s no stone left unturned and no regret.” According to her, giving 100% in a relationship allows for acceptance of whatever outcome may arise.

In her interview, Renner also touched upon the unique challenges of navigating divorce as a Muslim woman. She explained, “There is a 90-day waiting period in Islam, where you have 90 days to see if you’re pregnant because then he would be responsible. But also, during those 90 days, you are not to entertain anybody romantically.” Renner noted that this period serves as a reset, allowing her to focus on herself.

Renner’s positive outlook on her life and her newfound faith in Islam was evident in her earlier interviews. In a conversation with People published on May 4, she stated, “Islam has made my life better in every single category. And like my husband says, the closer you get to God, the more you get. Literally, in every category of my life, dreams happen.” She expressed gratitude for the changes her faith has brought, including her engagement to Gates, which she described as beautiful.

Reflecting on her relationship with Gates, Renner shared how she felt a deep connection with him. “All I can say is that I’m with the person that I quite literally dreamed of,” she said, adding that being with him felt surreal. However, their relationship faced challenges, including allegations of infidelity against Gates, which surfaced around the same time as their marriage.

The couple initially met in 2022 at Rolling Loud Miami, and Renner later appeared in Gates’ music video for “Bad For Me.” Their romance seemed to fade until a public resurgence in March 2025, coinciding with the infidelity allegations made by another woman. Despite these challenges, Renner seemed optimistic about her life moving forward, emphasizing her commitment to self-care and personal growth during this transitional period.

As Renner navigates her new chapter, fans of the reality star and her journey through love and faith will undoubtedly be watching closely. Whether it’s her reflections on marriage, her embrace of Islam, or her plans for the future, Brittany Renner continues to be a figure of interest in the world of celebrity news.
